Car enthusiasts will love this event that features classic, antique custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Enjoy live music, food, games, and of course cars at the Memorial Day Show and Community Festival, which takes place at Recreation Grove Park each year.
Willits Frontier Days
Advertised as “the longest-running continuous rodeo in California,” Frontier Days celebrates the Western heritage of Willits with rodeos, dances, horse shows, a Truck & Tractor Pull, a beef BBQ that serves 5,000, a carnival, and a parade on Main Street, to name a few of the local events. Hometown Celebrations
Willits Main Street comes alive twice a year, early summer and fall, transforming into a street fair with activities for kids, live music, merchant booths, street food vendors, and more. Even downtown shops and restaurants stay open late.
Roots of Motive Power Annual Steamup and Holiday Express
Each September, this all-volunteer organization hosts a weekend of activities for the public featuring their latest collection of antique steam-powered logging and locomotive equipment, train rides, a giant BBQ, and a raffle and live auction.
Roots of Motive Power also hosts a Christmas party complete with Christmas trees, carols, refreshments, and Santa arriving on a steam locomotive for the holiday season. Train rides and photo ops are all part of this free family event.
