Hike to Mendocino’s Beautiful Waterfall
Breathe tangy ocean air when you take an easy hike to the waterfall in Russian Gulch State Park. Just 40 miles from Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort, it’s an ideal day trip and the perfect way to combine beach, forest, and outdoor adventures.
Take the long way (6 miles) or the shorter route (2.8 miles) through Fern Canyon and a forest of mighty redwoods, densely carpeted with moss and fallen leaves, and cross a foot bridge to arrive at the spectacular 36-foot cascade.
From the Headlands Trail, you can gaze at the Pacific Ocean and marvel at the jaw-dropping views of the park’s notorious sinkhole, Devil’s Punchbowl.
Ocean fishing is allowed for children and licensed adults, 16 years and older. Leashed dogs on the beach are OK, too. Sorry, no dogs on the trails to the Falls.
